Filmmaker Rasi Azhagappan, an associate of Kamal Haasan, is wielding the megaphone for ‘Jeeva Poonga’. It features actor-director Tharun Gopi and ‘Peranmai’- fame Saranya in lead roles.

Rasi Azhagappan had directed ‘Vannathupoochi’, a movie that was set on a child yearning for love and care from her parents. On ‘Jeeva Poonga’, he says, “Be it a child and or an adult, the need to shower love and affection is same. This is going to be the message of. ‘Jeeva Poonga’.”

He adds: “It is not a regular mainstream masala movie but does not preach either. People expect a lot from me after ‘Vannathupoochi’ and I want to live up to their expectations”.

On choosing Tharun Gopi for the lead, he says, “He impressed me with his performance in ‘Mayandi Kudumbathaar’. He resembles the boy next door. Meanwhile, Saranya is apt for the character-role. Srikanth Deva is scoring the music.”
